Frequently asked questions
- When will Purl & Row be available?
- Purl & Row is currently in development for iPhone, iPad and Android. The launch will be announced on the TritonApps blog and social channels.
- Will there be an Android version?
- Yes. Purl & Row is built with one codebase for iOS and Android together, so both platforms will launch at the same time. Most recent knitting counter apps are iOS-only, so Android parity from day one is a key goal.
- What features will be free?
- All counter features will always be free: linked counters, repeats, reminders, count mode, touch lock and timer. The free tier also includes one project with basic PDF highlighting and multiple files per project. Every counter feature stays free forever.
- What does Purl & Row Plus unlock?
- Plus unlocks unlimited projects and advanced PDF markup (mask mode and multiple highlights per page). Plus costs EUR 0.49 a month or EUR 4.99 a year in Ireland, with a 2-week free trial on both plans. Prices vary by region.
- What happens if Plus lapses?
- If your Plus subscription lapses, you keep access to your first project only — the oldest non-sample project by creation date. Every other project stays visible but opens the paywall. Nothing is deleted, counters in the open project stay free, and resubscribing unlocks everything again.
- Is my data private?
- Yes. Purl & Row is local-first — your patterns, counters and projects stay on your device. There is no account, no cloud sync, and we collect only what's needed to manage subscriptions (RevenueCat) and crash reports (Sentry). No analytics SDK, no tracking across apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
- Can I use my own patterns?
- Yes. You can import PDF patterns you own and open them in the built-in viewer. Pattern files stay on your device and are never uploaded or shared. The app does not fetch web patterns or connect to pattern services.
- Will there be widgets or Apple Watch support?
- Widgets, an iOS Live Activity and chart tools may come in future updates. Apple Watch support isn't on the current roadmap unless reviews ask for it.
- How do I back up my projects?
- You can export a backup file via the share sheet. The backup is generated on-device and includes all your projects (or just the first project if Plus has lapsed). Restore the backup anytime by importing it back into the app.
- Where can I follow updates?
- We'll post launch updates on the TritonApps blog and our social channels. For support or questions, email support@tritonapps.com.
