Privacy Policy

Effective date: 26 October 2026 · Version 1.0 (pre-launch)

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Purl & Row (the “App”) collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the rights you have over it. The App is published by Andrew O Riordan, trading as TritonApps (“we”, “us”), an indie studio based in the Republic of Ireland. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the App.

Purl & Row is a knitting and crochet project journal for iOS and Android — a local-first tool for tracking patterns, counters, and projects. Understanding how it handles your data starts with one principle: Purl & Row is local-first. There is no Purl & Row account, no login, no cloud sync, no analytics SDK, and no server of our own. Pattern files stay on your device.

1. Who we are

The App is published by Andrew O Riordan, trading as TritonApps, an indie studio based in the Republic of Ireland. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the App. For privacy matters please email privacy@tritonapps.com. For general support please email support@tritonapps.com.

2. What we collect, when, and why

We try to collect as little as possible and only what we need to run the service. Because Purl & Row is local-first, the vast majority of your data never leaves your device. The categories below describe the data processed by the App and its service providers.

2.1 Your projects and pattern files

2.2 Reminders

2.3 Subscription data

2.4 Crash reports

2.5 What we deliberately do not do

3. Sub-processors

The following third parties receive data from the App. They process data needed for the services described below under their applicable service and data-processing terms. Apple and Google separately process store transactions under their own privacy notices where applicable.

The Apple App Store and Google Play process the purchase itself under their own privacy policies; they are payment processors acting independently of us.

4. How long we keep it

Your projects, counters, pattern files, notes, and settings are stored locally on your device and are kept for as long as you keep them there. They are removed when you delete them in the App or uninstall the App. We do not hold a copy.

RevenueCat retains purchase and entitlement records, and subscription screen views, for as long as needed to manage your subscription and to report on it. Sentry retains crash reports for a limited period to identify and fix bugs. Apple and Google retain payment records under their own policies; we do not control those records.

5. Your rights

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:

Other jurisdictions may give you similar rights (CCPA, LGPD, and others). We honour requests on the same basis regardless of where you are.

6. How to exercise your rights

Because Purl & Row is local-first, you control almost all of your data directly. Erasure of your projects, counters, pattern files, notes, and settings is achieved by deleting them in the App or uninstalling the App — this removes the data from your device. We hold no copy to erase.

For the limited data held by our sub-processors, email privacy@tritonapps.com and we will request deletion of your RevenueCat and Sentry records on your behalf. We respond without undue delay and normally within one calendar month. If a request is complex or you make several requests, the law may allow up to two additional months; we will explain any extension within the first month. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity and will explain any lawful exception.

7. Children’s data

Purl & Row is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU and UK) — the App collects no personal data from anyone beyond the pseudonymous subscription data described above. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact privacy@tritonapps.com and we will delete the relevant data.

8. International transfers

Our sub-processors RevenueCat and Sentry are US-based and may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism. Your data continues to be protected to the standard required by the GDPR.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects your rights, we will update the effective date above and notify you in-app or by other appropriate means before the change takes effect. Older versions are kept on file and are available on request.
